greetings from Kenton-on-Sea, Eastern Cape, SAFebruary 28, 2011
it’s summer in this part of the world and I’m finally soaking up some South African sun during a well deserved holiday here in Kenton-on-Sea, a most charming deserted beach resort in the Eastern Cape.
So instead of the usual rat race, busy working routines, computers, loading MP3‘s and WAV files, I’ll be enjoying glorious empty beaches, a warm Indian ocean to swim and surf, endless horizons and the promise of new encounters.
The coming weeks I plan a safari as well, hunting for records. Always an exciting thing to do, especially since one of my contacts seems to have located a box of dusty old 78’s in his garage. He told me that there are some African discs in there from the 50’s and 60’s. Hopefully I will be able to find some penny whistle rock, jive, African Jazz… or am I just dreaming?
Watch these pages the coming weeks for treasures unearthed and collected trophies!
